Privacy
Short version: there's no account, no sign-up, and nothing here is sold. This page covers what the site itself stores, what its ads set, and how to reach the person who runs it.
What the site itself stores
Everything below stays on your device, in your browser's local storage - it is never sent anywhere, and there's no account for it to be attached to even if it were:
- Your theme choice (light, dark, or system)
- Mystery Animal progress - streaks, best score, which filter you last used
- Whether you've seen the Daily intro before
If you send a problem report, what you typed and which animal it was about are stored so the issue can be fixed. No IP address, no cookie, no account, nothing that identifies who sent it.
What the ads set
The site runs Google AdSense, which uses its own cookies to serve and measure ads. That's Google's activity on Google's terms, not something this site controls - their ad privacy policy covers what it involves and what choices you have over it.
If you're visiting from the UK or the EEA, you'll be shown a consent message before any personalised ad loads, and you can change your choice at any time from the link in the footer below.
Get in touch
Wrong photo, wrong fact, a missing animal, or anything about how the site handles your data: the report form reaches the person who runs this directly, or open an issue on GitHub if you'd rather do that in the open.
The rest
The site is free, has no accounts, and is an early, ongoing project made for fun - expect it to keep changing. See About the game for how it works and why it exists.
